Manafa Bridge

Design and construction of a single span 25m long Manafa Bridge which is located on Tororo-Mbale road which is the primary spur of the Northern Corridor Route and is the only viable direct link to the southern Sudan and DRC via Soroti, Lira and Kamudini.

About the Project:

Preliminary and detailed Topographical, Hydrological, Geotechnical and ESIA Studies and Investigations to determine the required configuration (span and height) of the new bridge, ascertain the optimal location of the new bridge size while minimizing possible negative impact on the environment.

Structural modeling, analysis and design reinforced of concrete substructures and composite superstructure (reinforced concrete deck on structural steel girders) for the new 25m span Manafa Bridge, with an integral connection between the abutment walls and the superstructure.

The Bridge substructures of up to 9.0m height for abutment walls of reinforced concrete.

Composite bridge deck of two lane highway designed to HA and 45 Units of HB loading, to BS 5400 2006.
